Open Design Symposium - May 23rd, Linz













"This symposium intends to discuss the Open Design practice from various perspectives, such as art, design, engineering, education, society and economy. An international selection of expert speakers will provide an insight into the state of the art and future directions of an emerging field, which holds countless opportunities for regional development and worldwide distribution based on the principles of collaboration and shared knowledge. 

The event will take place on Wednesday, May 23rd 2012
at the Audimax of the Kunstuniversität Linz, Austria.
The presentation language of the entire symposium will be English."

"DuneLab is a team of architects [Timothee Raison, Asa Darmatriaji, Olga Kovrikova] researching on the topic of adapting the living condition in desert. The research is being conducted at the Dessau Institute of Architecture, Germany under the program of STUDIO X, lead by professor Christos Passas, prof. Matias del Campo [SPAN] and T.A. Alexander Kalachev."

Millipede beta - Grasshopper plug-in



"Millipede is a structural analysis and optimization component for grasshopper. It allows for very fast linear elastic analysis of frame and shell elements in 3d, 2d plate elements for in plane forces, and 3d volumetric elements. All systems can be optimized using built in topology optimization methods and have their results extracted and visualized in a variety of ways."
